REFRACT is an exhibition that explores art’s ability to transform conceptions of truth. The selected works experiment with self definition, subject hood, and stereotype to challenge viewers to discern between what they’re been taught is true and what they perceive about Blackness. It is an exercise in reflection.
REFRACT’s featured artists include: Adetutu Kafilat Sadiq, Blessing James, Kahalla Penelope Penny Bandy-Pasibe, Menat El Attma, Nneomma Nwosu, Saaleha Bey, Shelby Mayes, and zaynab abdulqadir-morris.
